About two years ago, I was a huge fan of the Evergreen RumbleFX Force Feedback headphone. I had two pairs. Both of them broke.

About a month after using them, I stumbled upon the headroom site and thought, "there can't possibly be something that sounds better than the bassification of these headphones."

I was oh-so-horribly wrong that I almost cry when thinking about my old self now.

They produce absolute OODLES of bass in the 80hz-30hz region, but it's loose, bloated, uncontrolled, sloppy-assed bass which made games unplayable and music unlistenable.

It's a weird sort of idea; the horrible reality of it is that the highs, mids, and even upper bass are masked by this effect.

For some people, it's a nice toy. For those who strive for, and here's the keywords, NATURAL REPRODUCTION OF SOUND, it's a nightmare.

Glad you like 'em though, I know that all of my friends did. Audiophiles are just, well. . . weird.

Yeah, it really gives your head a massage. I don't really consider them audio devices, rather they're the only "headphone-car audio hybrid" on the market: They mimic the sound of most "high-end" car audio systems: huge blasts of sub-bass and nothing much else.

Anyways, I've turned into one of those "natural reproduction of sound" nerds so they don't really inspire me anymore (plus they're broke).

there must be a pair of those rumble FX cans in my attic somewhere... i don t use them any more.
i liked the idea, so i bought them some time ago. it was nice to play ego shooters

with those things clamped on my head.
it is indeed a nice feeling

but besides poor sound quality, they have three problems:
a) they do not clamp enough to trasmit all the vibration to the skull and
b) they are not circumaural.
c) they don t isolate enough..
if anyone would produce a new model with those problems fixed, i d buy it...
