For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Bigger, Better, Faster, More! (1992) by 4 Non Blondes - This album sounds absolutely god-like on the Grados. Instead of guitar, which is normally the 325x's forte, this album has Linda Perry's incredibly powerful voice as the lead instrument. There's a moment in Morphine & Chocolate where she goes so over the top she completely loses control, that sounds phenomenal through these headphones, just the right amount of bite, just the right amount of grunt - sheer rock perfection achieved!

Slate Vsx--Vsx software(emulating PMC MB2 XBD)--Sonnox Listenhub

This setup sounded completely off running it off the output of SoundSource (mac), but sounds pretty amazing off of listenhub output (adjustable plugin buffer). It takes a little bit of adjustment, but psychoacoustically...this is impressive. Definitely weird to hear upfront sub bass, correct stereo field, correct depth and coming from headphones.

Can't Buy A Thrill (1972) by Steely Dan - Today I am mostly wearing a BIG GRIN. My shiny new Grado RS-1x arrived at 10:30 this morning and I'm already on my third album. Started off with Led Zeppelin 1, followed by Pretzel Logic and now onto Can't Buy A Thrill. I'm really happy with the sound of these Grados right out of the box and my brain is now pretty much attuned to the new sound signature, so a very enjoyable weekend is planned, listening to a LOT of albums. The sound is quite different to the SR325x, there's a lot more detail, larger sound stage, better separation, clearer highs, just a pretty wonderful sound. The SR325x will be going nowhere, they will remain my default choice for AC/DC, Guns 'n' Roses, Aerosmith, etc., basically any hard hitting rock that has no interest in subtlety.

yes, but what is it?
Deftones, White Pony

Pitchfork review: "transcends the dubious genre of nu-metal by fashioning a truly new form from post-hardcore, industrial, trip-hop, shoegaze, ambient electronics, and synth-pop."

...so that covers most bases ! :sunglasses:

My favourite band (duo) along w/ The BeaTles. Enjoy your RS-1X & your weekend of listening. 👍
