That's an interesting point! I'd argue it still lacks technical skill, but you might be on to something.
The DT880-600 is not the ultimate in resolution but it is very natural sounding if driven properly. With the combination of low sensitivity (95.6 dB/mw) and high impedance (600 ohms), equaling 97.8 dB/V which is well below headphone median, my guess is that the ‘600’ has not been fully heard by many.🤷🏻‍♂️

That makes sense and is something I'd agree with. Source gear is a big factor in bringing out the best in headphones and that makes the 880 a lot more expensive if you really want to get the most performance out of them.

The DT880-600 with the crack tube amp was one my favorite combos. I really regret selling that setup...

Listening to my Tidal Jazz playlist from my desktop vis USB to my Topping/Shenzhenaudio EX5 headphone DAC/Amp to my Sendy Apollo headphone. NICE!!!
