Proved that despite its huge size the CD3000 can be shoved down one's throat.

In-addition, I'd like to ALSO point members towards NewEgg.

HERE they have the HD580's going for only $120.

It was a deal I was going to strike in on, until I discovered this place. Now, my wallet (and woman) will never forgive me.

Oh well.

I just purchase a pair from them--good service and the phones arrived as advertised for $219 delivered.....but I did wonder if I would have been better off buying from Headroom for $279 and getting the $50 rebate + 5year warranty. HiFi for less is not an authorized dealer so you won't get the rebate. If you have any warranty issues, you have to contact HiFi for less to find out how to handle this through their "authorized distributer." I didn't know about the $50 rebate until after I had already placed the order from HiFi for less, otherwise I think I would have paid the extra $20 for 5 year's worth of warranty.

I recently purchased my headphones from JandR, and had them match the hifi for less price (219 shipped), this way I'm still eligeble for the 50 dollar mail in rebate. If you guys are concerned with recieving the $50 dollar mail in rebate there are a number of dealers who will match prices if you give 'em a ring.

Nice Deal!
I'm very jealous, I paid around 240 and thought I got a good deal, but this is aewsome, almost no reason to go with the 580's, if you can get the 600s for $169.

Here's a link to another (recent) thread in this forum.

And here's the rebate information itself, which is also mentioned in the above thread.

And the idea of getting the HD600s for $169 after rebate is somewhat mouth-watering. For that price, you could buy it and give it a listen, and then sell it for a profit if you don't like it or can't really afford to keep it. (Or just skip the listening part and sell it as NIB
).

By the way, has anyone redeemed the rebate offer? Was it nice and easy, or did it involve any hassle?

And do y'all know which other better-known etailers are authorized Sennheiser dealers, besides J&R?

HiFiForLess has them for $219 on AudiogoN (and if you call them on the phone, according to this thread). Trouble is, I doubt that they qualify for the Sennheiser rebate, which is 50 bucks off on the HD 600s (and less, for some other models) for a limited time. But, if you can get an authorized dealer to match the HiFiForLess price, then you can apply the rebate of $50 to the already low-low price of $219.

Beautiful, if it works. J&R is a dealer listed at sennheiserusa.com, so that should be good enough. You can look here to do a search of your own.

Well ****, I might have to do more than talk about it now.

Better hurry. If everyone starts hitting up J&R for price matching on the HD600's, they're gonna figure it out and stop doing it.

BTW, $169 for the HD600's is an insane deal...

I'm a little surprised that Gopher was able to get JandR to price match HiFiforless. Given that the HD600 price wasn't published (as Andrew LB pointed out, you get the low price only if you call). All price match I have encountered so far requires some proof other than just your word.
