HI,

I am new to heaphones but have a great home system. Arcam FMJ 23 and Plinius CD LAD
Perreaux amp. There is NO headphone jack of the any of these.

I want to use headphones to experience what I keep reading and feeling from you all.

I would use it on my stereo mentioned above(but how)..would I plug into my Arcam? but how, cant you just buy cables to connect the arcam to headphones, arcam has 2 lines out, isnt there a cable that fits the 2 and comes out 1 to plug into heaphones(oy, I am a newbee)
and use for my laptop, DVD player and Ipod.

I see there is portable and home etc.

I want to be able to love love the music in any of the uses I just mentioned.

Since I am new, I feel budget should be 100-200 on amp

and still dont own headphones yet....I just got the HD280, but think I am sending them back, feels too tite on my head.

you can mention combos too if you care to.

or just tell me what to get to solve my issue to hear it awesome on my stuff.
seeems buying used headphones and amp on this site could bring the cost way way down.
thanks

The sound character of the HD580 is extremely hard to change with an amp/source upgrade, but the sound of the HD595 can drastically change and be lifted to unbelievable standards. Find a warm amp to couple with the HD595 (especially tubes) and they will wow your pants off.

The absolute best headphone amp especially for Senns that I've ever heard is the Cary CAD300SEI integrated amplifier. That combo creates magic.

I have opportunity to buy one used for $85-90
would that work well with a 585, 595 or 555
all of which I am looking at getting.
I wantto use for ipod, laptop, dvd and use with my Arcam FMJ 23 CD player which has no headphone jack, I got some radio shack stuf today and I can now hear my HD 280 thru the Arcam...awesome. but it is loud with no volume control.

Also, an ideas is helpful. I saw you had a Creek in your listing of what you own, thanks

I use it with my PC and I find it very capable. I think you can hardly do any better for the money.

Millet Hybrid is wonderful with both, really tight textured yet warm, organic sound. I think these can be had for a nice price, especially if you can DIY.
