Managed to get a job lot of 10 6BL7 from a UK seller for just £20, most seem to be either lightly used or NOS, all dead silent and at just £2 per tube that's great value for such a great sounding tube.

Can someone verify in my WA22 does the 6BL7 go into the 6080 or 6SN7 slots? Sorry for the newb question. Still getting acquainted with the tube world and trying not to screw something up here.

Yip. Straight in.

Straight in as a replacement for 6080 or for 6SN7? Thanks in advance for the clarification.

Use the 6BL7 as a replacement for the 6080. It's a power tube. With the appropriate adapter, you can use dual 6BL7 into a single 6080 slot. There should be some pictures in this thread.

Power tube 6080 replacement. Don’t use as a driver 6SN7 tube.
You can throw in a single with no adapter. Dual needs an adapter.

Thanks guys. I look forward to trying it out. Might have to give the dual tubes into a single slot a try.

Excited to find this thread and ordered a pair of 1959 GE 6BL7GTA X Plates(w adapter) for my Darkvoice 336se amp, hoping all the rave reviews are true, so far I have a few 6080, 6as7g, 7236, and a 421a to compare this combo with.
