6BL7 sounds good and they are great on Glenn's OTL amp.

The 6BL7sounds very good with either EL3N or EL11in my Elise so I can only imagine how they sound in your Glenn.

Managed to get a job lot of 10 6BL7 from a UK seller for just £20, most seem to be either lightly used or NOS, all dead silent and at just £2 per tube that's great value for such a great sounding tube.

Use the 6BL7 as a replacement for the 6080. It's a power tube. With the appropriate adapter, you can use dual 6BL7 into a single 6080 slot. There should be some pictures in this thread.

You can throw in a single with no adapter. Dual needs an adapter.

Sorry, this won't solve the hum problem.

Excited to find this thread and ordered a pair of 1959 GE 6BL7GTA X Plates(w adapter) for my Darkvoice 336se amp, hoping all the rave reviews are true, so far I have a few 6080, 6as7g, 7236, and a 421a to compare this combo with.
