I want to put my entire collection on random and then differentiate between tracks I like and those I don't to create a favorites playlist. However I can't figure out how to mark the currently playing track as a favorite for future use. Any suggestions.

Apologies if this isn't the correct forum.

Foobar is very versatile so there are probably several methods of getting what you want.

I use an add on component called foo-playcount. Details here.

You can assign values either manually or in batch. Then use the filter box in Album list to make playlists.

e.g. %rating% GREATER 4 returns all 5 star tracks.

For anything more sophisticated try the official foobar forum.

Cool thanks. I think the rating tool will do the trick.
