When I am listening to binaural stuff, like the Ultrasone Demo CD, the stereo pans sound more like the sound is going over the top of my head. I also noticed this with other stuff.

Is there some foobar plugin to make the sound more real/3d sounding. Is it called cross fading? mixing abit of the left and right.

Crossfade a bit different from crossfeed. What you're talking about is a crossfeed. Crossfade is when one track fades into another (smooth transitions between tracks). Crossfeed is what you want (short delay of right signal to left channel and left signal to right channel).

Crossfeed plugins for Foobar are actually quite popular. Two examples are:

Of course, there are hardware crossfeeds as well.

Crossfeed can help with music mixed in the usual fashion, and can help a lot for stuff like the Beatles or old jazz with extreme stereo separation. For a binaural recording, using crossfeed will just ruin the desired effect of the recording and make it sound like you have no head between your ears.

EDIT: Getting an error, says "Failed to load DLL: foo_dsp_crossfader.dll
Reason: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." Rather vague, any ideas?

Are you using Foobar 0.8.3? This version is for the latest Foobar (0.9)

You might also need the VC8 runtime library linked to the authors blog:
