No need to with your current setup, which is already potentially end-game.[/quote]

Yeah, are we really at the point where HD800 is no longer end game? I don't think so.

You'll only be able to use maybe 1/8 - 1/4 of the volume pot with the LAu, unless you like it really loud. :)

I do not like listen to music loud. I would v surprised to listen over 1/4.

I just got alone utopia. DANG. My wife says if I sell all my other headphones, I can have one. Seriously thinking about it. I need to try an Elear.

So far, the utopia is the real deal, but it is a little heavy and the the cable is way too long for me. Any way to make a custom cable? Are the tips for sale anywhere?

Make two 6ft cables from one 14ft cable.

Great choices!!

Thank you. One is SS and one is tube. One is quite bespoke and a decent wait, the other you can get right away. I have not heard either with the Utopia but I expect that what is good for the HD800 should be good for the Utopia. The gsxmk2 is awesome but if you have a $4-5k budget I suggest checking these 2 out.

I spent 6 months with the hd800/Teton and have a good 3 months now with the Ravenswood. They make the hd800 sound like a much more expensive headphone than what it is imo. I can imagine the Utopia and one of those amps taking on the current kings imo. sr-007 and sr-009. I think T-money says it is close with an edge to the stax. He's the only other guy I know with a Ravenswood other than doug of course. My setup is a bit more modest than his I think but my 007mk1/kgsshv is really more the perfect compliment to my hd800/Ravenswood than better than the hd800. Both close to $5k.

Which do you prefer? RW or Teton?

Totally redoing my office system.

Old : Wyred4Sound DAC2 DSDse - Headroom BUDA/Headroom PSU - HD800

New : Holo Audio Spring DAC Level 3 - Violectric V281 - Utopia (Silver Dragon V3 with 4 pin XLR)

So far, only the V281 has shown up, and it is already making the HD800 sing like they have not before. Even using the 1/4 inch single ended output so far.

I guess I am in the "end of November" crowd for the Spring DAC level 3 from Kitsune Audio, and no clue when Moon-Audio will get a shipment of Utopias.

Been an exciting fall, planning, and ordering all these components. Really looking forward to the end result. I bought the DAC2 really early, and had it upgraded last year. I was also in on the early pre-order HD800s, and have had them on several amps so far. I got the BUDA and PSU right before they were no longer being made for HeadRoom.

Finally got some Utopia's, initial impressions are very positive. I am having some balanced cables made up, using DHC's last and greatest, the Prion4S. That will enable me to plug them directly into the amps instead of having to use the not so elegant adapter system currently.

They fit nicely into the rest of my Headphone collection and I am sure in time will carve out there own spot. Haven't tried them with any solid state amps yet but will do tomorrow.

Anyone know which connectors to use for custom cables for the utopia? (the ones that plug into the headphones, not the amp side :)
