There is a cool trade up program on the Elear, you can trade it in and get $850 towards a Utopia, not sure the time frame and I think it's only going to be through the dealer I used.
I don't think that's a big deal at all, actually it's a bad deal. You can sell a used Elear for more money than that.. it just came out.

I've never heard the Kennerton Odin, but the Utopia compared to the other two, these were my initial findings. Also, if you are looking at headphones at that level of price, have you considered a used Abyss? Or is the Abyss not up your alley.
LCD-4: Similar in terms of soundstage, LCD-4 might be a bit bigger and a bit deeper. LCD-4 is warmer, and the mids are better. Bass is bigger on the LCD-4, but the quality and speed of bass is better on the Utopia. Treble, the Utopia wins. Build quality is a tie. The LCD-4 is like a sumptuous cigar lounge, the Utopia is like an F1 car.
HE1000: The Utopia wins in every area. It is just a better headphone. With that being said, I can see why someone would prefer the HE1000. Its soundstage is bigger, and its more of a kick back and chill headphone. Build quality? The HE1000 is like a crap DIY job, and the Utopia is more like fine Italian craftsman build furniture.
After a lot of consideration, I would rather have the LCD-4 over the Utopia. I would love to add a Utopia to my collection, but I have other things that need attention first.

That's true Twerk you likely can get most of the money back by selling them privately. There is only one down side. The buyer of the used Elear pays near full price with NO WARRANTY because it is not a transferable warranty.I don't think that's a big deal at all, actually it's a bad deal. Same policy for the 4 grands Utopia?

That's a crappy warranty policy then... Did you Utopia buyer's know that?
However, if that's the case, the dealer buying the Elear for 850 and issuing a trade up offer could also not offer a warranty to the next buyer either. So it's not like the buyer of that used Elear would get the warranty from the dealer either on a used headphone.
So the point is pretty much moot.

Arnaud? Nice to hear from you. Are you referring to the Grande Utopia Focal flagship? If your referring to either there is no upgrade path because they are the top in their individual categories. If you're talking about the Grande Utopia Speakers that warranty and it's transferability is determined by the distributor in each market. It's like a US buyer buying a SR009 from PriceJapan No warranty at all unless you send it back to the original seller. The Grande Utopia here in the states is sold through a distributor. The Utopia headphone is sold through FocalNA.Same policy for the 4 grands Utopia?

Then it sounds like there is a work around to buying a used pair for less and keeping the warranty active.... just send back to the original seller if you need the warranty.
You'd just need to make sure the seller is cool with doing that. So, it wouldn't be true that the buyer of a second hand pair has NO WARRANTY as you stated above.

So if the original buyer sells it after a month, the used buyer is out of luck as far as warranty for buying an almost $4K headphone.

You said it yourself! It's not "my way". It's what you said in bold.

No...
If the original buyer sells it after a month and the used buyer has a problem, he should send it back to the original seller since the original seller has the warranty on it and could get it fixed for him.
I don't understand why they have a non-transferable warranty. That's just plain stupid. The initial factory warranty on a 1k or 4k headphone ought to be transferable.

If I'm the original seller I won't do it, that's a hassle.
