Those are Kimber Kables Axios
Nice to see focal going all out, it's a shame b&w hasn't stepped up to the plate with a 8 series offering as of yet, p7 indruduced the sorrund concept for a headphone driver before focal and has the technology to fabricate a diamond transducer, a fully open model would be pretty amazing in white. Actually a magico headphone would probably take it. There current beryllium tweeter coated with diamond, and there titiianum voice coils have the lowest Thd in the business, actually a compound diagram of graphenenano tubes, as is used in magics bass drivers with that of dimondmbeyerilium wold be pretty amazing, comming full circle back to dynamic drivers is pretty interesting, after the heks near weightless operating principle. And of course the surroundless ring radiator, I still believe the t1 can't be beat by having the pressure equalized on both sides of the driver it self. That would be the first version market pressure for a laid back version , I mean the first one was to good
B&W's headphones were not the first with a surround, as the old fostex d2000, D5000, D7000, as well as the TH series have surrounds. Focal's is the first I know of in a fully open headphone though. Given the P7's performance though, I really would like to see them go all out at an audiophile headphone too. There's probably not enough money in it
Measurements for the Utopia! You can compare them to other headphones via the third link.
This is great news that high end speaker manufacturers are jumping in. I hope others join in here as well as amp guys.
Well MSB is jumping in so I think your wish is coming true. Sell your house and borrow some money from your family and maybe the MSB can be yours! (No idea how much it will cost but it's not gonna be cheap and I'm guessing I'll never own one)
Did you hear that MSB are working on a headphone now?
Or are you referring to the electrostatic amp that only works in conjunction with their flagship DAC?
Right their Electrostatic Amp. It's cool. I've never heard anyone say their stuff sounds bad. I think I'm about as high end as I plan to be right now. Might still go for another nice headphone but I'm not entering MSB level DAC/Amp territory.
i think it's fair to say that tyll likes 'em
Yup, and here's the full review. He said the Elear is going up on the wall of fame, but it hasn't been updated yet.
already read it, thanks
The link was for the public.
yes, i'm well aware of your compulsion for doing that
I wonder how the elear and utopia compare to the the sennheiser hd 800S's
