Yes it is pricey, I'll certainly want to spend some time with it before I empty my wallet and know it's going to give me everything I expect from my classical cd's. Here's hoping you hit the lottery so that future becomes not quite so distant.

I personally wouldn't buy a great sounding headphone that wasn't comfortable to wear. I had comfort issues with the LCD line and ruled them out, but they did sound good. Heat buildup is another aspect of fit for me. My 2 favorites auditioned so far are the HD800 and HE1000. I know the 800S will be fine comfort wise when I audition it. I'll save the Utopia for last then most likely buy 2 of the 4 candidates and call my headphone search project completed. 2017 is set aside for actually listening to my collection.
 
Sound and fit are the 2 reasons I want to audition in home before buying. Especially at these price points.

Well glad I did not order from them lol. They are within driving distance for me. I have been meaning to head over there some time to hear the new Magico S1 mk2 and Focal Sopra 2 but have just not done it yet.

Where did you order from? Headroom shipped mine but I preorder a long time ago.

I ordered mine Saturday night from Amazon with prime discount and $70 gift card for signing up with their CC (which I should have done sooner as they give a 5% cash back on everything)  I got it Tuesday net price $882.55
I guess I got lucky (There is a first time for everything) . I just checked they have 2 left!!!

I saw the 2 on Amazon from Audio Lab. It seems they are an authorized dealer, but their terms on Amazon say no returns on headphones.
