Do you prefer the Clear to Utopia?

In my family we have all 3. My son 18yo prefers the Elear and listens to all kinds of music but mostly piano. My wife listens to Chinese pop and opera she prefers the Utopia. I like to hit my ear drums with some funk and aural groove music occasionally and with that I tend to prefer the Clear. In my general listening bigband Jazz, Rock, Country and orchestral I’m definately on the Utopia

Can you compare and contrast all three? It's quite weird to me across that price range you'd have three people in one household favoring each one.

I didn’t. My wife and I prefer the Utopia. My son prefers the Elear. I also said occasionally I go to the Clear. I did answer the question specifically to the Focal family of Headphones ....I’ll expound a tad. I also listen to SR009 on a BHSE and more often these days I listen to the VOCE on my BHSE. I have a set of Z1Rs ....I haven’t listened to in a while. Of course I own TSAV so I bring cans DAC’s and amps home all the time .....as Steve McCoin says, my job doesn’t suck.

I could do a comparison on the 3 but I’d have to take some time to really think it through or be somewhat cursory.

Hey Gang! We’ve decided to include the Clear in our Customer Appreciation Saturday sales. The next 3 Saturday will include the Clear as long as supply lasts

I'm listening to my Elex right now & that low impedance is starting to haunt me. I can't crank these without distortion. The Clears have an even lower impedance so I'm worried if saving up for the Clears is a mistake since I'm a high volume (between 70-80db) listener. Should I look elsewhere?

Hmmm, your listening is a tad high but really not that excessive. If you could clearly hear distortion from your cans, I would recommend checking your source and chain. What are you using for DAC/AMP?

CTH & EL Dac. None of my other headphones do the same thing at high volumes. I've tried multiple usb ports & an optical out. All the same. On my Magni 3 at low gain they're fine but not quite loud enough.
