The Source AV now has 2 exclusive cables! The Blue Cobra ($299) and the Black Cobra ($499)!

Took some pics earlier today, really gorgeous cables!

We have our samples terminated to the Utopia and Clear/Elear to 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm respectively but will have plenty of options to customize and choose from~

What's the difference between the Clear and the Clear Pro?

There's a conversation about the Pro version back around page 150 or so. But from what I read, it's the same as the Clear, just with a different look and accessories for the pro audio market.

Does anyone like the single ended over the balanced ended?

Today was the day- I am now a proud owner of a brand new pair of Focal Clear headphones. :)

Actually, I did the deal today. It's a gift from my family for my 60th birthday in a few weeks. So they will hang in the box waiting until 2/20! These were my self-imposed limitations. But in a few weeks, I'll be ready!

I'll be 60 in April but couldn't wait, so I got mine early and am using them now. My self control isn't the best I suppose! Great cans!

Fair question but allow me to sort of change it! It’s really more a question of the amp not so much the cable. 90% of balanced v unbalanced performance differentials are in your amp.

Better performing cables are very often in excess of $800 and can get out to a few thousand dollars. The idea behind the Black & Blue Cobra is to “allow” all frequencies that influence our listening get to your cans in a linear pattern without any audible roll off.

Many of the cables in these price ranges tend to roll off highs. Many of you “headfier’s” are the reason I decided to make this happen. 3 years ago you guys started asking. After hundreds of requests and now 3 years later we are weeks away from seeing if you guys agree we were able to make it happen. I’m sure @TSAVAlan will help with audition access. You can count on seeing it at lots of shows and meets for people to check out too.

How about doing balanced options too? I'd think that people with balanced setups might be more likely to pay big bucks for a cable. :)

You will be able to order in SE & Bal. We should be able to fit most major branded headphones

Does anyone has any recommendations or ideas on how to clean the headphones? The insides facing the ears don't have any fabric but at least it's all isolated and the pads are easily taken off to give it a brush. The grill pattern on the outside, however, is rather large and doesn't have any fabric (as far as I can tell) like the audeze headphones. Would rather not disassemble the cup, and it doesn't influence the sonic characteristics, but it is still rather annoying when something gets through the grill.

I have the ifi Pro iCan amp. I prefer always using balanced with my headphones. I think they really benefit from it. Specially high impedance headphones. However, to me the Clear is an exemption. The ifi is a super powerful headphone, up to 14,000 mW and driving the Clear in balanced mode is overkill. The clear brings the music in your face as we all know, but balanced, at least with this amp, it is in your face multiplied x 2. It is just too much.

In this case I prefer single ended.

If you mean on our cables? I’m not sure I can answer that as only a few have actually heard it. In general I get the impression people prefer balanced ovef SE but it is really Amp/DAP dependent.

There is a TSAV thread for questions and further access for the new cables @TSAVAlan started early yesterday that is for Q&A on the new cables.
