Oh I foresee them being an excellent pairing! I am a 2 TOTL headphone kind of guy. One for chill mood and the other for waking me up. You will cover a lot of ground wirh those 2.

Which one for the sounds more like a concert hall.

As I said before, the Elear sounded more bass heavy and punched harder than the Clear so that's why I preferred it to EDM.
That said, for classical and jazz it's no contest. The Clears are more accurate and detailed in the bass to me.
Also, I had the Atticus and to me the bass was anemic and had hardly any weight when I had them. I returned them shortly thereafter.

Wait, let me get this right, you say the Atticus has LESS bass than the Clear, which has less bass than the Elear? What were you using to amp the Atticus?

The Atticus is my go-to bass can. That’s the whole reason for that headphone to exist. It’s the most luscious, bassy closed headphone I’ve ever heard - all without messing up the mids, which are probably more real and liquid than most other headphones - open or closed. I have both Elear and Atticus and while the Elear has plenty of kick, when I want bass, I reach for the Atticus.

Again, I have to ask, are you being serious? And if so, what amp were you using. The Atticus is very picky when it comes to proper amplification, else it can potentially sound anemic.

I'm certainly not on this site to waste anyone's time nor my own. Of course I am serious.
I was told that the Atticus is picky with amplification but I rolled the dice anyway.

    I'm using a Burson Conductor V2+
With it, my HiFiman 400i, Audezes LCD2F, LCD X, Elear and Clear ALL had substantially more bass than the Atticus. To the point where I thought they were defective. The lack of bass was laughable, actually.
I couldn't return them fast enough.

    What amp(s) are you using?

I can't tell you how many hours I spent shaking my head while listening to the Atticus asking where the hell is this bass people are gushing over?

Sorry but I can’t agree with the words Bass Anemic attached to the Atticus

That's fine and I'm glad it's working out for you. Enjoy.

    Maybe a defective pair?
I haven't listened to one but the overall consensus is that the Atticus kick quite hard. Now I am curious. You guys need to stop costing me $. :deadhorse:

Thanks for the approval but I don’t own them as a user. We sell ZMF products because they are consistent in sound quality and build quality. We also feel that they are very easy to predict if it’s a good match for a listener. I think you need a 22” subwoofer attached to both sides of your head to get enough bass. lol :) Cheers

Interesting. Mine had a defect in the wood cup...a dent about 1/4" long.

A new pair from ZMF? I’ve never seen or heard of that unless it was shipping damage

    Shipping damage?!?!?
    Huh??????
The pelican case it comes in would NEVER allow that to happen.

I think I speak for everyone else here when I say enough with the Atticus talk. This is a thread for the amazing, wonderful, deliciously seductive Focal Clear headphone, and let's get back to it. Lol.

Got my replacement pair from the dealer today. Gotta say, they (Focal) were quick about shipping it and the dealer just swapped them, no questions. No creaking anymore!
