While I have been looking for a ~1GB straightforward flash MP3-player (in this thread), I noticed one interesting feature in one of the heavy contestants. The iRiver T20 datasheet states: "Integrated real-time clock with timer/alarm functions".

Now, does this mean that I could use this device as an alarm clock, by running it to my ampliflier's AUX-in? So that it could go on at 09:00 and start playing a track of my selection?

My only alarm clock at the moment is a mobile phone with a really irritating selection of alarm tones, so this would be a very nice feature for me... Can you recommend any other players with this feature?

How about the Samsung players, like YP-F2R or YP-U1Z? Do any of the cheaper Creative players have this feature, like the Zen Nano Plus, Nomad MuVo TX or MuVo V200? How about SanDisk Sansa C140? This could be a key feature determining which player I'd pick...

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd really appreciate it if someone with any experience with iRiver T10, T20 or T30 could confirm or rebut this:

The Cowon iAudio U3 has it. I'm not sure about the U2.

I am sure it does. The 5 had it and the U2 has the same features.

I thought it did, but their web site doesn't list it as a feature.

It might be one of those things that a firmware upgrade added, I'm not sure...
