I recently picked up a fiio x3 mk2, and although it's not totl by any means, it's got plenty of power to drive the r2a's
As I also play only 320k mp3's, some of the subtleties of higher def recordings aren't missed by me.
The big difference though is that compared to my iPhone 6:
1. It doesn't need playing past 50% of the volume
2. The hi gain gives it a really nice punch
3. The overall sound is so much fuller
4. Battery life is basically double
5. It's much smaller
I should also add that for £135 it was also a bargain for what it does.
Added benefit is that it also drives my HD650's and Hifiman HE560's without effort too
I'm likely to upgrade to the x7 or similar at some point in the future, but for now, I've yet to hear music through IEMs this good until you start playing £500+ units
