Hello head-fiers! A first timer here.. as the title says, I want to know which is the better bang for the buck since im planning to replace my dap's(samsung p2) stock earbuds. I've read about the reviews on the er6i, but i think there is gonna be a problem on the bass for me. I want an iem that is as clear or near as clear sounding as the er6i but can deliver the punchy bass of hip-hop songs cleanly yet not too powerful for rock/lounge/rnb songs. And yes guys, my budget is only $100 or below. Thanks!

To me they sounded extremely boring with a recessed midrange and anemic bass. The treble was priactially non existant. However, the ergonomics are first rate and can overshadow the sonic problems if sound quality isn't your priority.

i'm not a fan of the um1's.

You might like the bass, which is pretty strong for an IEM, but they imo are very veiled sounding, similiar to the sennheiser sound.

I would go for something else. Personally I like e2c's or er6's better in that price range, but im not a basshead either. More treble and less recessed mids make them sound clearer.

d-Jays would be the safer choice since they are harder to drive. Better with hiss and the UE's may need attenuation or amping to give more bass and balance out the prominent highs which can be harsh with some sources. Not sure how the P2 would synergize with the UE's but the Jays is still probably the safer bet as they sound just as good as the UE either way.

If it is based on pure sound quality I would get the d-jays. Very nice mids and treble.

If you are price conscious and both are very near each other, say <$40 difference, I would still go with the d-jays. If the difference is half to more than half then I would consider the superfi.3.
