Hi all,

It's been so long since I last posted I would not be surprised anyone I ever knew is not here anymore! Anyway...

I got a very good deal on a set of RS-2s, and I couldn't pass it up ($220!). Since I also got a Little Tube MKIV as a pre, the natural thing was to combine them. I'm a bit disappointed about the RS-2s, but that's for another thread...

Anyway, as I was trying to get up to speed on YEARS of reading, I noticed many people kept referring to their Grados "serial number". I even saw where it was - engraved on the wooden chamber.

Mine doesn't have any serial number. They are also way darker than any pic of any RS-2 out there. I'd assume they are kinda old.

Do all RS-2s have serial numbers?

Do all Grados use the same freakin' transducer, or is it just me? (hey, question for another thread!)

They have to be vintage or semi-vintage. A lot of been said about RS1 with brown headband and wooden box, but how about RS2?

And the price is great

Sounds like you have a really old one. TMK, older Grados did not have serial numbers. But yeah, the serial number is normally "scratched" on the side of each cup underneath the pads.

Are you absolutely sure they're un numbered? Have you checked underneath the pads? The reason I ask is because I'm unsure whether or not Grado had started numbering their headphones at the time of the introduction of the RS-2.

Anyhow, congrats with the purchase. They look great!
