Hello everyone,

You guys have been a great source of knowledge and I want to thank you. Thanks to you guys and the headwize forums I purchased Beyerdynamics DT880s and have completely fallen in love. I'm about 85 hours on breakin em in and they keep sounding better. It appears that I have caught a bit of a bug and am pondering purchasing a headphone amp. I am very interested in the Woo 6 from reading posts here. Sounds like a great product, great customer service, and gosh it sure do look perdy! My musical taste is rather large, anything from hip-hop to metal to world music. Will this amp be a good matchup to my Beyers? Source wise would be a Sony SACD CE595 for the time being, will eventually upgrade to Jolida or Rotel.

You got it right with the setup you want. Enjoy! The Woo6 would be fine for your DT880 for sure since I think people find them lacking in substance so a tube amp will have that in spades.

Yep, nice choice if you can swing it for future application of low Ohm cans too. Although, some may feel the W3 maybe better, as it's transformerless and suits the 880s sweetly

You might "search box" the "meets" subforum for impressions, between the two recently.

I'm sure the cans and amp specific owners will be along shortly with their testimonies

If you save some scratch on the amp choice, perhaps an outboard DAC fund could be started and really let the sonic sparks arc for ya listening pleasure

Welcome! If you really want to get bit by the bug hard, just find a local meet and go try some fantastic setups. They'll have you lusting for upgrades in no time.

Hello chunkluv! There's not much advise I can give you yet as I'm also a new member, but I can tell you in the few months I've been reading this forum I've bought 2 amps, 2 cans, a usb transport and a lot of tubes. In other words, prepare yourself

Welcome to head-fi. In a few months' time the WA6 should start appearing in the FS forums more frequently, you might be able to save a couple stones going that route.

Thanks for the warm welcome all. Ya, I love trinkets and can already feel my wallet getting smaller. It all started when a ticked off neighber complained about my mid fi system and left me an unhappy note saying "Can't you buy some headphones!!!" amongst some other expletives. Great Idea! So I found this place and found some DT880s.I had been drooling over B & W 805s and a Rotel 2 channel setup for a bit. I'm glad I ticked her off, I woulda hated to blow the money on those speakers, system and not be able to enjoy them. I can't even listen to my speakers anymore, it's like half the music that my headphones deliver.
