I picked these up today from a fellow head-fi'er who lived nearby and didnt like the sound (i love it). They are practically new with only about 10 hours on them so far. First off, as many of you know, they are huge and very nice looking. They feel much lighter than my HD515s and alot more comfortable. The open air design also keeps things feeling nice and, well, airy.
I love the sound these give. The bass is there without being to overpowering and boomy. This was the strongest point for me as the 515s lacked alot of bass and I didnt realise how much they were really missing. The overall sound can be described as silky and smooth, whereas I thought the 515s were to fatiguing and way to bright hurting my ears with those high notes. I mainly listen to Metal and rock where detail is very important and these give that. They keep up very well with the sound too, if alot is going on and its a real fast beat they have no problem keeping up and producing it. The soundstage is broader and more appealing which was good for me since I play alot of first person shooters.
My only complaint about them is my head is fairly large and they just didnt feel right at first with the 3d wing support and they didnt feel like they clamped on to my head as well as the 515s.
