I recieved the latest CD3K hybrid from Headphile today, this time they're using K1000 drivers hence K3000's. Here's a few pics to wet everyones appetite:

So far these are a really interesting pair of headphones much much different than I expected. I had thought for whatever reason that they would sound pretty similar to my cd3k's w/ hp1k drivers but they do not. They have a more upfront sound and who knew that K1000 drivers could produce this much high quality bass? Everyone who likes the K1000's but couldn't get over the lack of bass owes it to themselves to hear these. They sound fantastic so far but they need some more burn in (the drivers are brand new). I'll post more later...

HORRAY!! I'm glad they didn't get delayed shipping. Now the list of what I have to listen to a lot is up to 3 pieces of equipment: a Dynahi, CD3K w/ HP-1000, and CD3K w/ K1000.

To make things easier we will have two Dynahi's at the meet. I am burning-in the hell out of the one here

In a roundabout answer... It takes 4 things to make these. CD3000's, K1000 drivers ($400+), screened woodies/recable and four hours of converting/assembling. That adds up to, well I can't really say

Thanks,

Figure $500.00 for the K1000 drivers
Figure $200.00 for the CD3000 without the drivers
Figure something for labout and tooling

I think you are looking at a $1000.00 headphone at the minimum but I am interested because k1000 just went up in cost to $800.00 ??

I dont think the any headphone is worth more than $100.00 we are all suckers
