It’s been a long time since I heard Z1R. I think Z1R might be more airy in the bass but don’t quote me there.

Z1R sounds more sub bassy (rumbly) whereas XE6 is more mid bassy (punchy). Both very impactful but I’d say XE6 has more “slam” because of its greater mid bass presence.

Here's my review of the XE6 custom, I can't get enough of these, superb IEM. @bogdan belonozhko respect bro.

Anyone with the KR5 or XE6 have a preferred DAP that blows you away with the pair up. Interested in both IEMs and looking at the N8ii and Shanling M9. Finally time to upgrade gear I think

I only have a Nayparm modded WM1A but Kr5 sounds great on that. For convenience, it’s a tough call between just using that or going full Roon+Hugo2.

Good eye! That would be because I'm a weirdo and asked Fir to place my cable connector at the bottom so I can wear them cable down instead of over the ear. To accommodate my request, they had to move the modules to the top of the shells.
