In overall sound, M4 vs 64 audio tia trio which one better?

Short answer: neither in my opinion. I had a very hard time deciding which I preferred between the M4 and Trio when I had the tour pair of M4. So hard, in fact, I asked to get the tour M4 again. Without going into a withering amount of detail, I enjoyed the M4 bass a bit more than Trio's bass, but Trio has treble magic not matched by M4. I sent the M4 back to FiR for the next tour participant over a month ago and have been enjoying my Trio and other IEMs ever since. But I fully expect, when the M4 return, to feel, "Where have you been all my life?" The M4 and Trio are both very satisfying to me, and more similar than different, but the differences are meaningful to me making a choice between them difficult.

For me, this is what I call an ultimate match as fas as the SA700 simply transforms the M4 from excellent iems to incredible.

Soundstage is enhanced and more precise.
Layering capabilities is even better with more air.
Textures are even better.
Treble is sundently a bit softer (thankfully, I found treble section was a bit protruding) without loosing extension/details
Mids are suave and fuller,
Bass is a bit more extented, super smooth.

The result is superbly natural and balanced, the synergy is simply perfect and one of the best I heard to date.

What other DAPs did you try with the M4 before you settled on the SA700 as your favorite? Not that I should have asked that last time...

LPG
LPG6K
LPGTouch
N6II
R2R2000 Red
SP1000 cu with and without amp
AK240
Aune M1s

SA700 was my favorite pairing with the M5 during my testing phase. Was my favorite right over every other DAP right up untill I got to try the N6ii E01 and A/B it in comparison. The E01 won out over the SA700 in sound to me and pairing with the M5. And that was without even mentioning the added functionality of Android that you get with the N6ii.

I think to all who have an M5, check out the E01 module with N6ii. It's my daily driver now in pairing with my M5.

The sa700 + m5 is not bad at all but not the ideal pairing with m5 indeed.

The best i ever listened with M5 is e1da 9038s V2... Yeah it's around 80 usd i know... Can sound ridiculous but... Any m5 owner should listen this combo.

Unbeatable.

Wow really? Definitely not dark. But then again, it shows that people have different perception of sound :)
