The following changes and improvements have been made to the FW1.3 for BTR3K:

1. Added setting button operation modes via app (now you can choose to skip tracks with the middle button of the in-line control; the recent version of FiiO Control app is required for using this function);
2. Added holding the volume buttons to continuously adjust volume (available when the button operation mode is NOT set to "Hold volume buttons to skip tracks");
3. Fixed the issue where the power-on prompt was not complete when using OMTP headphones;
4. Fixed the issue where the audio might be muted or distorted when the BTR3K was connected with two devices and both devices were playing or making calls at the same time;
5. Fixed the issue where the beginning of the playback sound might be missing when connected to the computer via Bluetooth;
6. Increased the volume adjustment range for phone calls (up to 0dB, adjusted via app);
7. Miscellaneous bug fixes

The following changes and improvements have been made in the new firmware:

1. Added a new function of renaming the Bluetooth device (FiiO Control App->Setting menu->Custom device name). The same function will be available later in FiiO Music App.
2. Changed the sound prompt to differentiate power on and power off.
3. Fixed the issue where the device failed to enter playing state when connected to computers/adapters through HFP, and thus led to unsuccessful audio output after entering standby mode.
4. Fixed the issue where voices could not be heard under phone calls when there was another call.
5. Fixed the issue where the EQ was invalid after certain operations under the USB DAC mode.
6. Fixed the issue where the device would fail to turn on automatically when connected to a USB device in In-vehicle mode after it was turned off for a while.
7. Fixed the issue where the indicator light was still on after setting it to off when the device was charged.
8. Fixed the issue where certain devices would give an alert of excessive power consumption through USB DAC connection.
9. Fixed the issue where the device would automatically turn off after 3 minutes if connected to a USB DAC when pairing records were cleared and the Bluetooth was not connected.
10. Improved USB DAC status indication.
11. Improved the idle standby time counting after disconnecting and
reconnecting through the USB port.
12. Improved the response time of powering on/off, switching songs and declining phone calls.
13. Miscellaneous volume issues fixes.
Notes: it would be impossible to restore to the factory firmware version once upgrading to the latest one. Please consider it carefully before upgrading.

I followed the steps to upgrade the firmware of the FiiO BTR3K and it didn't work. Always make an error before starting the installation. An installer warning appears saying you cannot proceed.

It was a little challenging getting the btr3k into DFU mode, but eventually, it worked. It would be great if the update process could be built into the application and managed through the app. Which by the way, does not work on with my iPhone. I cannot get it to connect to the BTR3K.

Dear user,

The update is not supported via app or it may take a long time for updating.
As for the connection with ios FiiO Music app, you could try the following method for help:

①If the app quit working, it is suggested to clear the pairing record of the BTR3K in your phone. Then reconnect it to your phone and try again.

②For the iOS version: the first time to enter “Bluetooth device control”, short press the power button of the BTR3K to finish connection, and then click “Cancel” and return to “Bluetooth device control” menu. It will be connected successfully. At this time, click BTR3K to execute relating operations.

③For the iOS version: if the BTR3K did not show up in the “Bluetooth device control” list, click the “Refresh” icon in the upper right corner, or quit the app for a while and then reenter it.

Best regards

the English instruction page is not loading. can someone copy paste the firmware upgrade instructions here please?
1.Download the upgrade firmware package from FiiO website, check that the package should contain a lib folder, a .dfu firmware, and a FiiOBluetoothDfu app file;
2.If the computer has other USB Bluetooth devices plugged in, please unplug it first;
3.How to make BTR3K enter DFU mode:

After the BTR3K is turned on, hold the Multifunctional button (which is in the middle of the Power button and Volume buttons) for about 5 seconds, then the red and blue lights will flash alternately;

hold the 'Volume up'and'Multifunction' button at the same time until the indicator light turns off to switch to DFU mode, and then connect the BTR3K to the computer through the USB cable;

4.Run the FiiOBluetoothDfu program and click 'Start Upgrade' > 'OK', the upgrade program will run automatically;

6.After the upgrade is complete, you will be prompted with a 'Successful Upgrade', indicating that you have successfully upgraded. Click 'Finish' to exit;

7.Unplug the USB cable and reboot the BTR3K, and then you can use it normally.
8.If the playback stutters after the upgrade, try to press and hold the 'Volume up' and 'Volume down' button of the BTR3K at the same time to clear the pairing record, and cancel the pairing of your phone and reconnect.

thanks.
My unit is dead, not responding to power on, power reset 10secs, or charging. Is there anything i can do? Plugging it to PC and it was not recognized.
I did not attempt firmware upgrade, it just died after watching TV via bluetooth.
