I finished my cmoy 2 awhile ago, however today I opened it up to tweak a few things like add a couple thousand ohms of resistance to the LED because even at twice the nominal resistance for full brightness it was keeping me awake at night.

I also measured the DC offset which was .05mV which I don't think should be a problem.

How does it compare to other things you have used?

I'm interested.

Well it's much better than a stock Cmoy for low impedance, and really let the low bass come through.

It has higher voltage potential than my onkyo reciever, and sounds better has a higher voltage and current potential than my Squeezebox.

I have also used an Antique Labs tube amp that I auditioned however I did not like it on my cans, it was warmer but not nearly as clear.

My favorite amp so far is a single ended tube speaker amplifier hooked directly to my phones through a small converter. (I believe it was manufactured by Jolida), however I don't have that type of money.

Also Tangent's Tread power supply works extremely well and is highly recommended. There is no noise at full gain.

If you are making a mobile version of the Cmoy2 I'd leave out the LM6171. It does oscillate very easily, however with a good source it does not have any problems for me, but with poorer sources it osscilates very easily. I don't really know why its so, but it definatly is.

I personally am not a big believer in huge differences between amps, however with low impedance cans you really do need more current potential than most cheaper amps, and this definatly fits the bill at a good price, and sounds great if you use good components.
