Yaaaaaay. I finally finished. I rebuilt it 2 times because I had nothing to use to test. I had this static and only sound from the left channel. I turns out it was just the crappy radio shack jacks I was using.

But now all of the anger/rage built up inside of me is gone because I finally have half decent sound coming out of my 495's.

I have not put the volume pot on yet cause I wanted to hear it so bad and I was getting too frustrated. It will be done tonight and enclosed in a silver 1455 case.

I will probably post pics up soon. Also thanks to tangent for the awesome site that makes it so much easier. I am also very glad I found this site. Everyone is very helpful.

I'm hooked now and plan on doing a meta42 next and then maybe a PPA.

Why does everyone think the HD-495's are so bad? They sound good once they are powered properly. Everyone says they lack bass but I think everyone is just used to hearing the $10 sony buds that have inaccurate and exagerated bass. The Senns sound very balanced and maybe a bit too laid back but they are good for my first pair of high end phones.

Anyways this is just IMO.

Use the link PeterR gave. And you can find the case on The Hammond Website . I got the case locally but you could just do a google search for hammond.

Or could someone just tell ImMersion where to buy the case.

And thanks everyone for the compliments. I am so happy I am done! I hope to do a meta42 soon but I'm a little short on cash.

Nice job on the enclosure. You will always be glad you took the time to put your first DIY'd amp in something that is worth all of the effort it took to make the insides.

Saw in your profile that you are in high school. I always enjoy seeing someone getting into DIY at an early age. Wish I had. Although at 38, I still have a few good years left in me - I hope!

Now, next step is to show off your new amp to your buds and watch them drool. Can't get THAT at Best Buy.

Nice.

Yah I just started grade 10. I showed my uncle who is in the audio biz and he thought it was super cool.

I think you chose a very attractive case for the CMoy.

Enjoy!

Nice amp, Lil_JV!

You can also get Hammond 1455 series cases at DigiKey, Newark and Mouser. Not all distributors stock all variants of this case, so you may need to search around a bit.
