Hey guys!

I am currently looking for a new set of headphones. Im looking for a pair of headphones with punchy bass and overall warm sound (i really like the sound of B&O headphones, but im looking for something other this time). My budget is between 100-200 usd.
Right now i am looking at a pair of Sony MDR1A which i can buy for around 150 usd on sale in a local store, which seems quite cheap when i compare to prices online.
So wanted to hear you guys recommendations on some alternatives or if i should just go for the Sonys.

Thanks!

I`ve seen refurb B&W P7`s go for under $200 USD, they`re a good option for sure. The Sony`s are also a solid choice but you should also look at the Gen 1 Sennheiser Momentum as well, they`ve fallen quite a bit in price and offer mostly similar sound quality to the newer model. I`m assuming you don`t want to go open back either.

Yea im looking for some closed back as i am also going to use them for travel aswell. But about the sennheisers, the momentum 2 are actually cheaper here where im from (Denmark). I never understood why, but theres not really any war on the prices on older models in all electronics in denmark, which means you can often buy better and newer electronics for cheap.
Im not really looking for anything used, so the b&w is not something im going to look in to. But it would be nice with some other alternatives. Ive just been looking at the akg k550 which i can get for around 150usd aswell. Which one is better and why? I just dont really love the design of the k550 as much as the mdr1a to be honest.

I`m not sure I would go for the K550`s if you want a warm sound, but coming from the B&W P7`s, I personally enjoyed the K550`s sound. The mids are clear and the bass is plenty punchy. I bought a set from Hong Kong a few years ago, it worked out to be about $140 AUD making them great value. Have you had a look at the K553, it`s supposed to be a bassier/warmer K550.
