When I bought the SR60 today, I also auditioned the X-Can V2. Damn, the SR60 can sound even better. That's what i'm going to get next.

jlo mein, I bought mine in signature audio. I only know HiFi stereo carry them and signature audio gave me a better price, thou not the best. Should have bought it across the border to save some bucks for the Altoid Amp fund ( or the X-Can fund ).

Welcome to Head-Fi!
Try them with the RA-1.
You will like them even more.

I wasn't too crazy about the x-can/Grado combo.
How are the prices for the x-cans vs the RA-1?
Or if you want to start small (but big in sound)give JMT a PM and have him make you an amp for much less than a x-can will cost plus its portable too!

I decided to give my 60's another spin after collecting dust, damn my Minidisc player never sound better. All my MD's are recorded in Type R and they sound marvelous, i'm listening to Dave Matthews Band "Two step" right now, ahhhhh.....bliss

bootman, the shop don't have the RA-1 in stock. I don't even wanna know at this point. I've already emailed JMT, see what he can offer me. Meanwhile, I'll sit back and enjoy.

I'm sorry but i don't see how an amp will help $70 cans, especially cans that are easily driven like the 60's. I personally do not use an amp with the 60's, they sound great out of any portable.

mkyy, you might be wasting your money on an amp in this case.

I disagree!
An amp will help any headphone sound better.

Its just a matter of budget for some people but there is no denying that an amp will make his cans sound better.

But i've used a cmoy and a altoid...no difference. How much does that amp you listed run for? And how much of an improvement can there be?

gloco, u might be right, an amp wouldn't improve too much on a **entry level** headphone. But my personal belief is an amp, if not improve, wouldn't degrade the sound of the phones.

Plus, I've never ruled out the possibility of getting a new pair. Maybe the V6?? If someone is kind enough to get it for me in the States and mail it to me..

But that's another story
