Finally my M9-DX with 400GB Hitachi drive touched down. Space! Finally! Partitioned it so I have room for my backup as well, still 330GB for tunes, Tunes, TUNES! Currently I'm having iTunes push over almost 200GB of music. I guess I won't run of space for quite a while now, and if I should, these things stack up nicely.

I do have to note though that this drive is *not* quiet. There's a 7200rpm drive inside, the fan is set to "auto" & at this time it is quite a ruckus going on there. I will try "manual low" for the fan, but I guess this drive will live under the desk and not on it since I plan to use it 24/7. Or maybe I'll just have to shell out for a Mac mini to be my main-music-server and just set it up in the basement.

"What are you doing in the basement again?"
"I'm feeding more CDs to the bottomless drive!"

Ja, from what I hear the windows version can be icky at times. Only performance issue with mine is that playback might throw up a stutter while I challenge the CPU by opening 16 websites simultaneously with Safari

Maybe you want to open a thread about it? I'm sure a couple of people here have done just that. The mini sreams for this application. If you have a separate screen (which I am sadly not blessed with at this time) you can just set it up with a VNC solution - or not even that, basic iTunes library sharing might be enough if you're not into playcounts - disconnect the screen and that's it. If you have a Mac already you just set the system to autostart with nothing but iTunes, clone it to the mini with CCC & push power.

Whatever you do, don't forget Macworld is coming up next week. We have entered the phase of high anticipation

and for internet browsing!

NO MORE ****ing security issues anymore, I'm really starting to hate my beloved WinXP because of this... bitmap-issues and whatsoever.. it's no fun.

AND the darn rootkits coming from SONY etc. etc.
