I thought they looked
very nice.

I couldn't figure out how to
get the full sized image. I clicked on
the 10 kb image on the screen to download it, but the downloaded file was the 10 kb one.

Looks great!

Could you explain in greater detail how you made the cables? Did you wrap in teflon and then sleeve it? And whats the spiral ribbing under the teflon, some sort of resistor/cap network?

BTW, Who's the woman in your avatar? She looks kinda, sorta, a bit familiar...!

Directions:
1. Cut polypropylene rope desired length
2. Mummy wrap the rope in a spiral like fashion
3. Get 1 strand of wire about 5 inches longer than rope and spiral it across, should be around 1 revolution per inch and tape the ends (with scotch tape) so they don't get loose.
4. Ditto, but the second strand should be between every first one.
5. Remove one side of the scotch tape and start mummy wraping the wire to the other end.
6. Solder on to what ever connectors you will use.
7. Slide the techflex on and finally shrink wrap the ends.

The spiraling ribbon is the wire.
My avator is a Korean singer named BoA.

The cable is pretty flexible. Much more flexible than Belden coaxial, but not as flexible as the cheap crap included with normal cd players etc. The cable is mainly flexible due to the fact polypropylene rope is Very flexible, so the Techflex gives it a bit of support.

Thanks for the directions and the ID on the avatar--

How does the cable sound to you? Do you have anything you can compare it to?

And lastly, where did you buy your supplies?

Thanks--

I am pretty impressed with the cable, but haven't really done any comparisons. It stomps my old Ratshack cables. Right now, i'm burning them in and they seem to be improving. They have greater clarity and larger soundstage than the Ratshacks. I don't have much to compare with though. I no longer have my Belden coaxials, but i built some Kimber PSB as wells so i can probably do a comparison on those.
I got my supplies from three main places, Percyaudio.com, Mcmaster.com and partsexpress:

Percyaudio:
XLO 30awg teflon insulated 6/9 pure copper solid cable
3:1 1/2" shrink tube
3:1 3/8" shrink tube

MC Master:
1/4" pulley polypropylene rope
1 43' roll 3/4" inch military grade teflon tape

Partsexpress:
Dayton locking RCAs
Neutrik 3.5mm stereo mini jacks

I'll be sure to post some comparisons after burn in. The PSBs/PBJs seem to have smoother highs, but the whatever creations i have seem to do better in imaging, soundstage, and bass. They have somewhat harsh highs.
