Apparently this is a specialized version meant for VR and binaural audio (ASMR fans rejoice!). It's rather nice to see Final come up with these niche products instead of yet another generic IEM.

Interesting. I did consider the Senn IE800. But they were over my budget and without detachable cables.

When you say the 'original,' you mean the IE800 as opposed to the IE800S?

I have found a demo unit for half the price... but I am a bit worried about buying a demo pair.

Check out the upcoming JVC / Drop FDX1. Detachable cables and three pairs of differently tuned nozzles. Excellent extension at both ends and zero mid-bass bloat. Currently my favorite single DDs (and I own the IE800).

Not sure what you meant by "small tips". These come with 4 sizes of tips, but the housings are a bit on the heavy side (stainless steel).

I just hope these won't need EQ/DSP to sound good. The iSines need some heavy EQing to make the midrange sound decent. Otherwise it's all over the place.
