Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread

Personally, I think the character of the bass differs a bit between the E4000 and E5000. The E5000 has a tighter, harder hitting bass, while the E4000's bass is more naturally resonant. Due to the stronger lower treble lift in the E4000 they sound a bit more detailed and sparkly.

In case you might find it useful, I reviewed both recently and compared them as I hear them:
https://twister6.com/2018/10/05/final-e4000-e5000/ (sound section on page 2)

Couldn't agree more, the E5000 are incredibly good IEMs. I reviewed them, had to return them and am now thinking about buying them so I can have them again. I still have the E4000, but to me the E5000 were a clear step up and I loved their energy. I have much more expensive IEMs of my own and reviewed, borrowed and demoed several other TOTL IEMs all paired with expensive cables, but the E5000 still managed to impress me deeply. I guess that says a lot about the Law of Diminishing Returns. Although being a hopeless pathological audiophile, I still keep my fingers crossed Final will come up with the next segment above these (E7000?). :D

Final is about to release the E8000, a non-customizable version of their actual MAKE-Serie. E1000, a very low priced IEM, maybe around USD 30.-, should be released next year as well. Finally, a mysterious D6000 is also in the pipeline: https://www.google.ch/amp/www.phileweb.com/amp/news/d-av/201810/27/45494.html

I think I saw the link a little while back and it looks interesting, especially the D6000, which look like Final have set their sights on Audeze's iSine series.

It is a little bit of a shame that the E8000 does not retain the same form factor as the others in the E-series (at least I assume it will look like the picture). I really like the tiny form factor.

I agree about the current E-Serie form factor. If the fit of the upcoming E8000 is good, I have no problem with it, though. They also will leak a lot less I imagine.

Any picture or product page of the E8000 can't seem to find one?

If they go down the Final Make fit route, believe me it's very very good one of the best universal fit I have experienced.
Final Make 2 by the way is really an interesting upgrade path for E4000/5000 owners IMHO, aside from the tuning of the Make series, the BA brings a lot to the dynamic driver of the E4000/5000 in the treble department not that much in extension but the Make 2 is more transparent with better clarity than the E5000. Coming from the E5000, you'll want to tune it a bit differently than default though (haven't heard the E4000 but I figure the default tuning is rather that from what I have read) to get the same smoothness and thickness.

Check the link I posted a few posts above. You will have a picture with E8000 mentioned below it. Thanks for your take on the Make 2. Very interesting product. How did you manage to get it, as it doesn't officially sell out of JP?

Ok indeed same fit as Make series and beryllium driver, interesting!
Also D6000 looks like Audeze iSine / LCD i4... this is going to be quite great to get a Final product with planar tech :D

Yeah, hard to find IEM :p
I got the Make 2 here on headfi, from @shsh who has been backing the project initially.

Planar tech already available on the full size D8000. So, yes, would be interesting to have it in an IEM form. 2019 will see Final releasing some new stuff and hopefully gaining more popularity in the West

any updates on the E1000? Will they be available still before Christmas?

Not sure about worldwide. But E1000 is going to be released in Japan on 30-Nov. Therefore I guess the worldwide release should be pretty soon

Great that Final took that real entry-level route for people having little cash but good ears:L3000:

Been experimenting with tips, I'm really not too fond of the midbass bloom that can sometimes overshadow the mid-upper mid on a lot of my tracks so I probably won't use the Final E tips much. Spinfit CP-500 fixed the midbass bloom and brought vocals a bit more forward enough for me to change my mind while keeping most good things intact. Most interesting change is perceived with CP-350 which is essentially CP-500 cut in half, they turn E5000 into a rather mid-forward sounding phones at the expense of their 3D-ness which is a bit too much of a sacrifice but the effect is quite interesting and I can see myself plopping in the eartips from time to time for some tracks.

They're really quite nice sounding IEMs at its core. Nice timbre with no truly glaring problems (unless you're an unapologetically treble-head of course). Still interested in E4000 but bought too much stuff this period, maybe later.

Thanks for your recommandation about the Spinfits CP500. I will give them a try, although I already am 100% satisfied with the stock tips.

Just got my E1000 package from Final Direct Shop. I chose the Blue one.

Having it in my ear playing some music now. My first impression is, this is so Final like :D
I think the sound is pretty similar to E2000 or E3000 but since they are using the same dynamic driver if I am not mistaken, so I am not surprised.
Maybe need to try around the 2 to find which one E1000 is closer to.

But with 2480 yen (Around 20USD), this budget earphone from Final really has a very high price-performance ratio.

From an article, the CEO of Final mentioned that the decision of releasing E1000 is based on the demand of high school student.
Those Japanese students have claimed that they are liking E2000 and E3000 but due to the price, they are hard to be recommended to their friend.

Really glad that Final also invest in their budget like to let more people in the world being capable to enjoy their sound quality.
