use a tweezer, just pull out the foam at the back of the drivers, bit by bit....its irreversible by the way.

Are your HD650 purchased after 2007? Before that, they used different darker drivers.
My fill in "La figaro 339".

They were purchased very lightly used in late 2010.

This "mod" just makes my HD-600 have even more bloated mid-bass. Severe loss of clarity and no extra treble.
How can you make the mids more "lush" and have more treble? Makes no sense. On the HD-600 the mids sound distant or even more recessed with this mod.

Just look at the difference between the HD-580 and HD-600. The HD-580 has more treble only because the driver is getting less air (due to the grill).
More air and less treble and more bass due to my ears.

I'm glad it's reversible because it sounds like crap on an HD-600. No big deal.

BTW I wonder if the HD-650 grills are more closed off than the HD-600 grills. Most likely, but who knows..I wonder what HD-650 grills do for the HD-600 if anything.
