Thanks, but I want a DAP solution. I have iBasso DX200, which seems quite stable compared to FiiO's efforts. FiiO has always been complimented on the sound and value of their DAPs, but not many people say they have good firmware. Time to invest in people, or outsource.

I can't really contradict you here, but at least for me, FiiO daps were fairly stable. Only time I really had bugs with their firmware, my microSD card was broken. Other than that, FiiO DAPs were really stable and sweet for me. But I noticed the large amount of people encountering bugs here, probably I had a more minimalistic usage scenario, or my library was just less prone to bugs :)

I am not sure if any DAP can do power SSDs...

Other than that, FiiO X7mkii and iBasso DX120 have both Coax and dual MicroSD slots

Mine is for sell too, anyone in Australia wanting it, let me know.
Can't agree more. Excelent sounding and hardware. But the firmware annoys me to the core. Hiby R3 firmware is much more stable, but doesn't do Offline Tidal and R6 has a few hardware flawless.

Does anyone here consider A&K AK320 or AK380 as an option?

I have been using a 2TB SDD as a part of my stack with X7 mark II and it works flawlessly, just reduces the battery life by a some hours, which I use to take break with.

Excellent advice. I’ve got a lg v20 velcroed to a iDSD BL, a Sony Xperia XZ2 velcroed to a fiio Q5 and both work better than my X7 gen II, especially for streaming. A phone is a much better streamer than any dap. I’ve had and sold X5iii, Hiby R6. Both had bad WiFi.

The ol' trust Onkyo DP-X1 can certainly do all of that.
When I had my X7ii it worked well for me too. No real deal breakers. I'm the type to just fell er up with music and enjoy. Don't care about all the additional bells and whistles.

Have never seen a DP-X1 in person, so I had no idea :)

Happy to hear you're having fun with X7mkii :)

You may use the JP version. The DAP is much faster now.
If I want a new firmware, I'd wait for JP's

I'm just wondering will Google stop support for 5.1.1 since we're stuck with this due to h/w limitation?

I'm exactly the same just fill up SD card and enjoy i don't use the bells and whistles so mine has been (fingers crossed) pretty stable, but I have to agree about they need to be more on the ball with firmware and the stock player, I had the previous X7 and they took ages to get it to a level I was happy with I sold it a few months later.

    Dear friend,

If everything goes well, the new firmware will be released this month.

    Best regards

You posted this on 10th October:

    Dear friend,

We have reported to the manager and the engineer about that. Will consider and assess about that first.

If everything goes well, we will release a new firmware for the X7MKII this month.

    Best regards

So three weeks later, it's sometime in November!

This year, I own the x7 and now I still have the x7-2 since several month.
I don't find it specially buggy, and it bugs a lot less than the first x7.
It is slow but when we use it with precaution, no bugs.
And for information, I never use the fiio app and always Neutron or UAPP.

Could you please share change log? Will it contain JP firmware improvement that makes X7 faster?

Do you have news about big Fiio music app upgrade promised at the end of June?
