FiiO Thank for your hard working! I'm appreciate your effort to make a good FW and delight that you gather all the bugs and glitchs in 2.0 to fix them in the next FW. I believe I won't regret buying X7 since FiiO always take care and listen to the customer :)

@JamesFiiO

if the am5 can not drive demanding headphones with great authority like hifiman, audeze and other demanding headphones with just the am5, we really need you to think about desgining an amp module that can be even thicker than the regular am modules, we will will not look at how the combo will look like, or battery life, as we know to drive those you need a strong amp, and anyone using x7 will have to strap an external amp to drive such headphones which looks ugly anyway

so please consider making such amp whatever the design looks like we will take it

look at the ak380 amp it looks with the ak380 like a big brick

so please take this point seriously

AM5 drives my audeze with authority.

  warrior1975,  we are so sorry for this mistake, we already informed the Micca to correct the price again.

You can't actually tell them what to charge, that isn't allowed, but you can suggest as in suggested retail. The only thing a supplier can do is stop selling to a re-seller, but you can't tell them what to sell for, but I suspect you know that.

Yes, but in most cases the retailer will follow the msrp.

Not that often. These days with the amount of e-stores (or even Walmart, Target, they almost always go below MSRP). Crazy going above MSRP. It is as you said pure greed nd that re-seller will likely suffer for the behavior. The web sometimes makes people and entities feel protected, but as a business they are investing in a bad reputation. I know I will never support them just on principle. I also don't know if FiiO is leaving enough meat on the bones for a reseller at $99. If they are charging say $60 plus freight for the modlues, the landed cost might be close to $70 (hypothetical numbers) so a margin of $30 for some may be too lean. If the modules sit around in your inventory for months hitting your line of credit and cash flow it is tough.

Still, even if that is so, charging double is foolish under all circumstances so I agree with you there mate. Maybe $110 would be fine, in fact I'll bet most people wouldn't bat an eye at the extra $10.

As an aside, given this is a thread where lovers of portable rigs and gear frequent some may be interested in my review of the new ONKYO Bluetooth headphone, the H500BT.

I wouldn't have complained for upwards of $149. I don't really mind paying a premium on things, but the 100% mark up was too much for me. If they are paying $60. Selling at $99, that's almost $40. I don't do retail, but that's over a 40% markup, seems like a good mark up, no?

I've just had a look at Amazon.com (although my local version is .co.uk) and the AM3 is not listed on Amazon.com at present.

The AM5 and AM2 are listed by 3 different sellers, all at the recommended price of $99.

Mica do not appear for any of the items.  Perhaps they have taken the hint that potential buyers have rumbled their rip-off?
