i hope this beta firmware will soon be a public release as promised more than 10 days ago and that it will not stay in beta for long

Totally disagree. The firmware renders the X7 completely unusable on OSX. When you connect the X7 to a PC you see the storage areas and can copy songs over. On the Mac its a totally different story. I was unable to see or copy any data to the X7.

Lets not get on the Mac vs PC bandwagon either here -  in the US , PC shipments fell 5.8 percent while Mac shipments rose 5.6 percent year-over-year.

Just plugged my X7 with beta firmware to my friend's Macbook Pro, I can see all files in both X7 internal and external SD card.

I think everyone wants to see it sooner than later, but we need to trust that they're working on it and will release when ready. I'm as annoyed by issues with current FW as anybody else, but let's keep in mind FIIO engineers are balancing between delivery speed and quality of provided software.

In a way it's a lose-lose situation for them: Release quickly and have people whine about bugs, take time to polish and deal with impatience.

If you want good software, then you will have to wait.

Does the X7 support storage of offline Spotify playlists to the onboard memory and the SD card?

I think that we should be considered lucky that we all have this much input in beta testing of the new firmware. I dont think many companies would have the community this involved in helping them with the new versions.

Frankly, I'd much rather have a buggy beta released for observing/critiquing than a new full version which has tons of quirks. They release these betas because they want us to find bugs and are obviously listening and fixing what they can with each revision.

Guys, I need help.

I've been using the beta firmware and since I updated there is a major problem with SPOTIFY:
- Every time I reboot or turn off my X7 all my downloaded songs disappear. I've tried changing the storage from SD to internal SD and internal storage, but this issue seems to persists.

Did a factory reset too and still the same.

What should I do? I really enjoyed the new firmware and would like to keep it that way.

All,

Do we have a confirmed list of players that fully utilize the X7's DAC for playback? I see mention of Spotify, Tidal etc and I wonder with the new Android OS whether theres something good here for us? (I currently don't listen to any of those services on my X7)

Hi, Starfield
Could you tell us where did you find your songs disappear?

I have a similar problem. It happens to me that the device looses count of the scanned songs sometimes after a restart and says no songs exist even though they exist on the internal storage.
Once I rescan the, they all appear.

Anyone else faces this issue?

I also have the issue with the Fiio Control Pannel to connect with the device on DAC mode. The device is not found...i tried all usb' i have. Also reinstalled the application. Windows 10 - 64 bits. Multiple times trying this makes the device not respond...and i have to do a hard reboot.

Hi, 2damoon
1. Could you tell us where you found the files disappear? From the folders or the playlists?
2. Please try to uninstall the X7 in device manager and use another USB cable to see whether it helps?
