The lower volume on first 10 seconds on FiiO music app (after a reboot) has been there for a long time, for the last 2 or 3 FW updates at least, never gave it much attention...

I think FiiO is working on another major firmware and wanted to gain some extra time with this update, no significant wins over 1.91 beta indeed (for the use I give it) ... But I'm happy with X7 as it is and with FiiO responsiveness.

This was actually a feature request from this thread by a user about 3 firmwares ago.  The thought behind this is that when plugging in your headphones, you don't blow out your ears with the sudden jarring full sound.  I think it's a good idea and have appreciated it a few times.

As far as this update, I've had no issues with it and it sounds great.  I'm very pleased with the update.  I'm on an AM3 with balanced phones.

I notice the sound cutting out in the middle of a song while listening to Spotify. I know this can be simply the app's fault, but I have been noticing it more lately.

Also, please address the Google Play issues, Fiio. :frowning2:

I think that's an Android/Google or Spotify issue, had it before I got my X7

I would have to strongly disagree about this being a useful feature. It makes it difficult to do SPL-matched A/B tests. It also has no guarantee of sparing your eardrums from unexpectedly loud sound if, for example, you happen to have left the headphone jack plugged in for more than 10 seconds when you hit play.

Listening to the new version for longer, there also seems to be an improvement with soundstage

Absolutely. When I started listening after the update, my first thought was "Oh, okay. So this is what the X7 is really capable of." Stunning resolution.
