Just out of curiosity, do you listen with the amp modules or do you connect the line out of the X7 to an external amp(/dac)?

Amp modules - mostly AM5 and AM2, but I'll also use AM1 if I know I'll be out with IEMs not requiring extra amplification. I don't usually use the line-out much at all - more if I'm testing other devices than anything.

Great to hear, as I´m quiet satisfied myself with the amp modules. I almost started doubting myself when I´ve read that some guys think the amps are not good enough, and it would require a Mojo or RA 2.0 to get some decent sound from the X7.

The am2 is an excellent amp module. Am5 seems great as well. I also own the Mojo, they are close in performance. Mojo is better, but the X7 is pretty damn good in it's own right.

Both the aforementioned modules are excellent and offer a differing flavour and drive. A draw of versatility became a major purchasing requirement.

Can you expound to why/how the mojo is considered better?

You can lock the volume wheel so it won't change volume while screen is off. I did

 
I meant that anything that is a volume wheel can break, and I would really do want to avoid it.

I don't think you'll need Mojo if you already have X7. It will bypass Sabre desktop class DAC chip of X7, make X7 become expensive transporter, which could be replace by a cheaper mobile phone or better transporter (DP-X1 which have 2 SD Slots, newer Android and better hardware for example)

I only have the AM1, but 99% of the time I have line out to RA 2.0 now. Just no going back to AM1 after getting used to how good the RA 2.0 sounds 

 
But I have yet to hear the other modules so I am sure they will be great as well.

am1 is low end hi-fi, it really impairs the X7.
 
get the am2, it's so much better sounding, clearer, spacious.

Yes, with Fiio´s new strategy I think the AM1 might become superfluous, because the AM2 is so much better in all categories.

Yeah, I guess with the AM2 the X7 probably performs on the same level as the RA 2.0.

Tried and quite awhile ago as well - in both USB OTG as well as coax. If it is with AM1, I'll X7 is comparable but Mojo have some small advantage overall. But with AM2, I don't feel like X7 is anything less. In fact, I haven't really use Mojo much since I got AM2.
