  James, will the X5 be supporting DSD over PCM when used as a USB DAC?

James I wanted to ask you about this: the auto shutoff timer is settable to 8 minutes max, can't you make it longer say up to 1/2 hour or 30 minutes. My DX50 allows me to do it and I don't constantly turn this thing on. It wears the on/off button unnecessarily. Please don't tell me to put it off it is not any better because of battery drain.

Is it just my unit, when I charge the X5 while off this bright battery indicator stays on forever or until is is charged? Turns my side bed table in a Christmas tree at night.

Regarding the new bright album art, it does look good. But the feature will be better if we can choose our own "No Art" screen. (That treble clef looks okay when it is toned down but really not so attractive when bright.)

Regarding the new bright album art, it does look good. But the feature will be better if we can choose our own "No Art" screen. (That treble clef looks okay when it is toned down but really not so attractive when bright.)

 
I think you can adjust the brightness in the setting menu.

I understand James, the main reason is for people like myself who brings the dap to work and are constantly interrupted. I stop the music from playing and when I am done answering, the dap is off. Lengthening the time is not changing the functionality just extends the time interval someone can shut the dap automatically.

2) Could someone please be a kind soul to put that firmware up somewhere? Still no connection to any Fiio sites (may it be fiio.net nor fiio.com.cn)

 
Sean I think you got James link for the firmware update. There is no change log available in the zip file.

after 1 day of reviewing the x5..overall result is really positive
 
but something i think Fiio can make improvement in the future shd be button mapping function...since there are so many button on X5..maybe future fw can allow user to map their own button like the top two button near the screen map to rev and fwd...
