Thanks that's awesome. I don't have an x5iii yet but it may serve my portable work set up well.

Wiping the cache and Dalvik Cache in TWRP fixed everything and I recommend doing it everytime you install update the kernal

Now it runs like a dream

Just to check, is this as well as install fiio firmware? If so, does it matter what order stuff is installed? Last question I promise

Presumably you already have FiiO 1.2.1 or 1.2.2 installed. If so just install my kernel over it.

If you're upgrading to 1.2.2, then you'll need to reinstall my kernel once you've installed FiiO's firmware.

I mean thousands of posts among hundreds of pages in this thread would seem to suggest the X5iii has had some growing pains. But in the last couple months, with custom ROMs and custom kernel optimizations, and FiiO’s own firmware updates, it’s made great strides.

I agree, it's enjoyable to listen to again without their own music app skipping every now and again during play of the files. I chose the fidelizer option for my firmware along with the newest kernal
by Jkbuka, who made big strides in getting his kernal to help optimize the firmware. I don't use the x5iii for anything other than plugging in some headphones and chillin' to some music, it's all i intended to use it for. Again a shout out to jkbuha, his help has been enormous.

After install your kernel (2.5) on 1.2.2, player freeze on boot screen "Fiio smart hi-res DAP".
Please help...

Upd: Starts Optimizing apps but it freezes....
