I'm sure it may just be a rendering and they didn't include the small 'fin' for the card. It would be suicide for FiiO to make it non-combatible with current microSD cards.

No worries. I can see the confusion. I'll keep an eye on this as well, although I don't really need another DAP it does look like a really nice upgrade to the X5ii IMO.

I am ready for a new dap as soon as I get some money saved up.  I am cleared out right now.  Glad it will be next year before it arrives in the U.S.  I will start saving now.  My old X5 is just so dang inconvenient to operate.  Iit is kind of slow and unresponsive.  I am sure the X5 3 will be much better in all aspects.  Anybody know if the X5 3 will support playlists like the old Fiio daps?

Both Micro SD card Slot is Micro SIM Card Slot and they defiantly protect the entire thing (micro Sd protection is back as implemented in X5 1st Gen) as well hope the player come bundle with SIM ejector pin.

That Is a great idea.  The micro sd card slots should last longer I would think.  Making a tray for the cards instead of a slot that has the mechanism to kick them out seems smarter and hopefully easier to remove the and insert cards.  I had problms with my smartphone so Verizon is giving me a new phone in exchange as I have a protection plan for it. It has a tray like this for 1 micro sd card and the sim card.
