Hey Fiio,  What playlist formats will the X5 3 support?  Will my X5 M3U8 playlists work?  Wil the ID3 Tags I specially set up for my original X5 be recognized by the X5 3?

If the playlists are using absolute paths, the playlists may be compatible to X5III as well.Yes, the ID3 can be recognzied.

What are absolute paths?  Sorry I am a bit of a noob still to creating playlists.  Also how ill updates to the X5 3 be done?  Over WiFi or download and put on the micro sd card and then update manually on the player?

Absolute paths: drive letter\folder 1\folder 2;
Relative paths: (.\)folder 1\ folder 2.

I am ready for a new dap as soon as I get some money saved up.  I am cleared out right now.  Glad it will be next year before it arrives in the U.S.  I will start saving now.  My old X5 is just so dang inconvenient to operate.  Iit is kind of slow and unresponsive.  I am sure the X5 3 will be much better in all aspects.  Anybody know if the X5 3 will support playlists like the old Fiio daps?

got an info about fiio launching the new X5, read all the specification and rush to head fi, the feature IMO almost perfect (if all of them can run as intended) i am perfectly okay with micro usb. the only downside maybe i want more battery life but 10 hours i think is okay. now the problem is only the SQ... if this can beat my onkyo, i will throw it away and switch to this

and i thought you have pulled the trigger on onkyo after all that, but maybe its worth to wait
 
anyway i just see the price 399USD? that's pretty crazy for all the feature and specs, hope the SQ and build quality will superb

Im quite impressed with the features of the X5iii. Owning the X5 and X5ii, and doing mutiple custom themes for them, and also using them as a digital source for some fine gear I think the X5 3 looks like a great package for the price.
