I'm currently trying to decide whether to purchase the X5, X3 or the Lootoo Paw 5000. My primary concern is capacity. I'd like to make as much of my collection as portable as possible. I know right now that the highest capacity microSD available is the SanDisk 200GB, I also read the X5 has some problems with regards to OTG compatibility. 

I've read that while the X5 can house two high capacity microSD's, it tends to lock up if a large USB stick is attached via OTG while the X3 only supports 128gig single card it can run much larger storage devices through an OTG cable. Out of the two which is the most favourable for capacity?

I guess the Lootoo can apparently support up to 2tb, even though a card hasn't been made to that capacity, I'm concerned that that particular device has issues with regards to sound quality and a less than user friendly interface.

Does anyone have a high capacity rig with the any of the above devices, and has the X5's issues with OTG been resolved?

Get X5ii + 2x200gb microsd cards. 
 
OTG is sketchy on all DAPs right now, and X5ii support for OTG is dropped to avoid problems. 
 
400gb of music on microsd cards. I can barely fill 2x64 nowdays, because I don't listen to everything while out and about.

I've turned this over to the main forum as I needed a single post to have thread starting rights.

Very dissapointed that they have abandoned OTG support altogether. While 400gb is a great capacity it wouldn't be enough to get my whole music collection onto one device without having to switch out SD cards. I'm willing to make compromises obviously, but I'm really looking for something that can house 500+gb at a minimum.

Any idea if it could handle the new Samsung 256gb micro SD?

Has anyone used Bowers and Wilkins P7s with the Fiio X5 Gen 2?
 
 
I noticed the player has an output power of 245mW @32 Ohms, the P7 headphones have a maximum input of 55mW @22 Ohms.
 
@22 Ohms, the Fiio X5 would be pushing out over 300mW.
 
 
 
Could I easily blow the P7 headphones?  If anyone has the P7's with the X5II, are they a good match? How high is it safe to go with the volume level on High Gain/Low Gain?

I misread, even worst, it says 50mW Max. Input power on B&W's website. Headphones are 22 ohm.

It'll be fine. If you listen at levels that will damage the headphones then you will certainly damage your hearing. Many people are using the X5ii with more sensitive IEMs without issue. Use common sense and don't turn up the volume to max, or plug in headphones to the line-out port.

can we expect any more firmware updates for x5ii? i would like to see possibility to display album cover without HUD and ability to wheel volume without need of holding center button first. Also more visual themes would be nice. I remember many people (including me) did theme for original x3 and there is still almost nothing for x5ii.
btw i was experimenting with gain and low pass filter setting and discovered, that gradual filter and high gain sounds best to me? why is that? can somebody elaborate on those settings?
otherwise im pretty happy with purchase. im a bit disapointed with DSD and high res, which i expected to be audiable improvement over cd resolution but its not.

I am also having settings of High Gain and Gradual.

I find high gain sounds better and more punch.

I find Gradual more cohesive sounding.
Steep felt like something's missing or got cut off.

You guys probably prefer high cause' it's better to have a little too much gain than less to get the full response of a speaker.
Just be sure you're not distorting the sound which will blowout the speaker from pushing it too hard.
 
My 600's need the high gain.
 
I like to use the steep setting for crappy recordings/mastering like the latest brick walled music that are too sharp for my ears.
And the gradual for music I find already pleasing

Truth is I'm having problems lately with frequencies above 1K which is why I bought the X5ii (EQ capabilities)
I need much more help with a lot of recordings than both filters offer.
 
I thought I had done some ear damage until I realized my problem is the result of severe allergies.
This explained why one night my equipment can sound great and another not.

I've never experienced something like that. 
 
Please tell more about what is happening. 
 
Maybe you have very very big album art, that can cause lag. Not freeze.
