Hi, We have reported the issues you mentioned to our engineer. Sorry if bringing inconvenience to you. As for the issue idle standby, it is a certain song? Did you turn on Bluetooth or gapless or other special settings? Best regards
Did some of you encounter issues with that 1.6.6 version that didn't happen on the 1.6.0 firmware ? I'm asking that because i bought my fiio x1 ii on may (version was 1.5.6 when unboxing, immediately updated to 1.6.0 that was released 2 weeks before or something) and have been on 1.6.0 since then (i did not try the 1.6.2). I only (but i might do some "shuffle" in the future) listen to songs using the browser among folders and i don't use bluetooth option. Should i upgrade to 1.6.6 even though i almost never had a single issue (player froze maybe 2 or 3 times in 6 months) ? And (since i updated from 1.5.6 to 1.6.0 instantly before putting any songs into my player i never experienced that) can you upgrade the firmware without having to delete your songs and load them again which takes a massive amount of time in USB ? Also can you go back to an older firmware if 1.6.6 gives you issues ? Thanks for your help.
Hi, You can update the firmware to latest one without without having to delete your songs. Also you can go back to an older firmware you prefer via the same methods like updating. Best regards
How does X1II look like after all recent updates? Is gapless for FLAC?mp3 available? Does the UI is still so laggy as it was let's say over 6 months ago?
Gapless for FLAC has been supported since FW 1.5.6 (I think), but no gapless MP3 for you! The interface still feels like an unusually slow sloth on a slow day. Actually, with mostly FLAC files, it's not too bad, but when I compressed the library to AAC, the interface became unusable with a delay of about 2-5 seconds.
Oh I use AAC files alot and you are so right...it's painfully slow! I don't really see much improvement with this fw update. Initially I thought it was faster but it isn't...it's just the same as it was.
I can live with FLAC gapless only. How long does the battery last? I am curious if it is worth to test it again when I have Shanling M1 which works like a charm.
Apparently it's supposed to last an hour or two longer with general use. But honestly, after using the M1 for a little bit, I'd stick with that over the X1II any day
I reckon there's a more processing required for AAC files compared to FLAC. But yeah, with FLAC it kind of feels a bit faster but that could just be placebo.
The X1ii is a frustrating bastard to deal with. I say stick to the M1. I'm currently planning on an external DAC for my phone so I can chuck the X1ii out the window.
I would have thought there would be more processing for FLAC files since they are larger but I don't really know. Also the first second or so of songs are cut off when starting an album as it was with the last firmware. Does that happen with FLAC files too?
From my experience, the 1-2 second skip happens whe the player wakes up from hybernation, when you do a cold boot or when you unplug and replug your headphones.
@FiiO - Quick question. I noticed that the headphone output mode boost the bass significantly compared to line out mode. Is this an effect of the amp or is it done in software? Because it would be great to have an option to have a flat response with headphone mode.
