The JH3 is designed by the chief engineer Joseph from Jade Audio, an all-new acoustic brand. The design of the new JH3 is inspired by that of the silhouette of SCHOTTIS shutters when against the sun. Its aluminum alloy is carefully shaped with a 5-axis CNC machine, carefully hand polished, and goes through many other manufacturing processes used on high-end products to give it a pristine mirror-like finish, each “stripe” of light and shadow clearly showcased.

On December 10, 2021, #FiiO 2021 Winter Launch Event# will straightly get to you. Let's stay tuned for it.

I've noticed that new name brings along with it more interest among the audio enthusiast community. I think it is a smart business strategy to embrace the market behavior.
I'm not saying brands that have been around for a long time are stale and outdated. But clearly Shure, Sennheiser, Grado, and some other American brand names have not really brought excitement of freshness. Ironically it is only a name. But there is a sense that old companies can become resistant to change, and thereby leave the door open to new comers to fill a void. SCHOT reminds me of leather jacket among other things.

Hi guys. Welcome to FiiO's 2021 winter launch event. Here, we would like to introduce 3 earphone models for you. The first is the #Triple Driver Hybrid IEMs JH3#.

Inspired by that of the silhouette of SCHOTTIS shutters when against the sun, we achieved this stunning look on the JH3. Shaped with a 5-axis CNC machine, the aluminum alloy earphone shell was carefully hand polished and goes through many other manufacturing processes to give it a pristine mirror-like finish. Each "stripe" of light and shadow is clearly showcased.

The 13.6mm dynamic driver is mainly responsible for the bass and mids, resulting in lush, full mids and potently dynamic bass. The treble is taken charge by the FiiO-developed 2 exclusively customized BA drivers, which are placed closer to the opening of the sound tube for less treble loss. Also, the JH3 is Hi-Res certified.

How about its price? The MSRP goes to 59.99 USD (in the US market). But we have prepared a big discount for early adopters at our AliExpress and Amazon stores. See the picture for more details.

It claims on your website these are aimed at youth/younger gen, why did you opt for only the 2 pin option but I suppose it does not matter for most unless some wanted to fit to existing Neckband/Earloops and own the MMCX version of them?

It is widely used for most of the third-party earphones with an MMCX connector. Needed an expanding connector to assure the reliability, the MMCX connector cost more than the 2-pin. In addition, customized earphones normally use 2-pin connectors due to the specificity of resinous material. Therefore, in order to control the cost, we have to give up the MMCX connector.

Best regards

I bought the JH3. Was gonna grab the JD3 but no real deal on them and the JH3 was only $20 more and I liked the graph a bit better.

A pleasant surprise so far, they live up to the marketing. The graph is basic, yes, but accurate as well. The bass is tight and quite dynamic. Very well defined with separation and dynamic right out of the box. Gives truth to the toe tapping claim. Sub and mid bass very distinct and guitars pop and crunch very engagingly. Less treble loss with those BA in the tube but that can be trouble. Done very right here. Less loss indeed with clarity and very good extension for $40 but still well behaved even cranking the volume a bit. Also quite coherent unless you are going with bassier tips. then you may take the sharpness down low away more and you don't have that same level of cohesion. Still early so I need to run them in more.

Fit is excellent and the cable is very nice. Looks good, well behaved for comfort and microphonics, and lets the phone have very good clarity and extension and resolution. Not one you feel are holding them back. You get the vault style case and 7 pairs of tips so the package is more complete than someone like KZ does. Very much like FiiO said we are gonna do KZ but better. A better package and some hype in the marketing but it lives up to it more

Thanks for your impressions.
Any sharpness or harshness in violins or female vocals around 2-4k?

Any sharpness or harshness in violins or female vocals around 2-4k?

Less than an hour on them but I would say violins are crisp but not really sharp. I am also using some UE tips right now and the stock are a bit tamer. A good job. Using a Cowon D3 so not something warm but natural and not trying to smooth.

I still say that they did a good job on the "less loss" but kept the treble well behaved enough. It is brighter and doesn't roll. A more "W" sig and the treble is not smooth and trying not to offend. Kinda brash but crisp and exciting. So, out of the box really it toes the line a bit but well done esp. for being in the tubes. Again, much like the graph,

That later peak gives some air and there are the peaks seemingly at about 2 and 4 that do push the energy and liven them up but I hear them stop before harshness. They have some sizzle out of the box so far but they are not sibilant. Not the bad sizzle connotation but energy and lively. It can be a little sibilant on vocals with the wrong tips, the shinier kind, that reflect more treble energy than absorbing it but those don't come in the box but just to show. To be fair they need more hours in case they settle more than out of the box and I was pushing them towards it some.

I have been listening to the new Fiio x Jade Audio JH3. My immediate impression is of a lively, dynamic sound, with an overall profile of a gentle W shape, just on the bright side of neutral, with a powerful and well-textured bass with a bit of warmth, a clear and expressive midrange and a clean, crisp and extended treble with copious detail.

There is a "light and airy" quality which is refreshing. The soundstage is extensive and imaging precise, with separation very evident. There's a good balance between musicality and technical ability. Occasionally, the JH3 flirts with harshness and the tonality can be slightly unnatural, but this is infrequent and only occurs with certain genres and at higher volume. There is a touch of bass bleed into the midrange as well, but these are minor issues. Overall this is very impressive at the price. Definitely one for the shortlist.

Good we hear it the same. Most of the same stuff I said but more concise and less "rambly" than me. :)

I do think the highs have toned down and perhaps the bass a bit as well. Mids seem to be more of a focus than they were earlier. I have not changed tips or cable or EQ at all. Both enjoyable plus some nice ability plus no nagging weakness or issue = win!
