FiiO X5III - FiiO Releases the New Firmware FW1.2.5 for X5 3rd gen

I'm staying with 1.1.7 until tidal skipping/glitching is confirmed resolved.
I would agree they are a lot of random crashes on apps - HibyMusic Player, Nuetron Music Player, Ransone and Onkyo HF Player didn't seem to go away even if I did a factory reset and reflashed FW v1. 1.8. Hopefully they would be addressed pretty soon by FiiO team. Fingers crossed.

New firmware 1.1.8 updated yesterday. Two hours after install it and "another one bites the dust", laggy touch screen, really bad list scrolling, continuous cuts on some hi res files. The same estrange sensation with 1.1.7 like if something inside the system is not working fine. Fixed the play/pause button operation, fixed resume function, gapless Still not working well but with general working worse than 1.1.6. I back to the 1.1.6 and probably stay there for long time seeing the way things are taking. One question is there any way to install the white theme on 1.1.6 firmware?

Updated Firmware 1.1.8 - the Only issue faced so far Hiby Music can't see the Second MicroSD Card....Which is fine earlier.

Update:- Uninstalling and Reinstalling Hiby Player Solved the problems.

Burning the firmware may help.

Did the new firmware resolve the issues with Tidal? That's one thing keeping me from buying the X5...
There's been much discussion on this. Highly doubt any firmware update will fix the skip/stutter issues with Tidal. It's more of a processing/cpu capability issue. It also does this using Google music.

Any news about enabling USB out?
Hi,
For the usb audio function, our engineer are always keep improving it. However, the usb audio function involve the multi-layer protocol in the audio architecture. Also, in order to be compatible with different DAC devices in the market, we need to test this function in many different devices which is no an easy job.
Actually, a beta version has came up. But the indexes failed to satisfy us and meet our expection. So we won't release it and need to do more tests first.
Besides , X5III is an Android based device which allow users to install kinds of third party APPs. Currently, You can still use some third party APP (such as Hiby music)to get the usb audio function work.
Please accept our sincere apology For bringing inconvenience to you. In a word, we won't give up the USB audio function and will try our best to realize it soon.
Best regards

Thanks for your explanation and all effort to make this real.

I have Meridian Explorer 2 so if I connect it to X5 3rd gen, will I be able to use it as an external DAC through Hiby Music or USB Audio Player Pro?

(I must note that, X5 3rd gen is not able to feed Meridian Explorer 2 directly, I will need an external power cable to turn it on.)
