Your welcomeThank you - worked like a charm
Dear friend,@FiiO unfortunately having trouble updating. I tried OTA. It said Android system updating and rebooting then shows an error screen. Tried it twice. Had to hard reset it each time.
Thought it may be an issue with OTA updates. Downloaded the file to my computer. Formatted the SD card in case there was any issue with it. Copied the file over and tried the update from local file. Same error.
Any ideas as to what the problem may be and how to resolve it?
Please try to format the SD card to FAT32 file system, change another SD cards and download the update file again to check?
If the issue stay, you could enter the recovery mode by holding the power button and the next song button first.
And switch to 'apply update from sd card' option to select the update package using the volume wheel. Then press the power button and choose the update package.
Also please check whether you have downloaded the correct file: M7-Firmware 1.0.4 dowload link: http://m7pack.fiio.net/M7-ota-1.0.4.zip
Best regards

Some of the SD card may not be compatible for updating the firmware. It is not a firmware bug. You could try another SD card for help instead.

Fiio, I own both the M7 and M9. Is it possible to update the firmware so when the device is turned on, it goes immediately to the “now playing” mode? Right now, powering up means having to reactivate the Music app. Both devices’ primary function is to play music, so the Music App should be active by default. Thanks for considering this suggestion.

We could help report your feedback to the engineer, but they would need to assess about that first.

Thanks for the response. Any word when the FIIO Music app for iOS with FIIO Link function will come out? I use the M9 as the music source for my home stereo, and being ablento control it from my iPhone or iPad will be great.

If everything goes well, the new update for FiiO Music APP ios version will be released this month.

I installed the Spotify app. It works, except when I have it on "offline mode". After I download some music from Spotify onto the M9, I play the downloaded music in "offline mode", then turn off the device after listening to the music. When I turn on the M9 again and start Spotify, the app says I am "offline", and will need to get online---but I can't log back in! And I am not able to access the Spotify music I downloaded. I have Spotify on my iPhone and iPad, and I never have that problem related to using Spotify in "offline" mode.

You could try the suggestions by Spotify support to see if it helps: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/listen-offline-troubleshooting/
