FiiO Olympus 2 and AKG Q701. I need an amp (or headphone) with a little less high end. Any recommendations? THANKS!

None.

The Q701 are a bright headphone. If they are a bit bright for you, the way to solve the problem is with different headphones. A different amp/dac will make little or no difference.

I would recommend the AKG K7XX. Not as bright. Bit warmer due to better low end than the K7XX.

Thanks. I'll check them out. I  like the accuracy of the Q701 but just a tad bright for my tastes.

I want something that's accurate, not too much high end, not too much low end.

Technically speaking, if it's bright (or warm) then it's not really accurate, because that means it's enhancing or reducing a certain part of the range. Since a headphone (nor speaker) with a perfectly flat response doesn't exist, "neutral" and "accurate" are just relative terms - ie the response curve of some headphones (or speakers) are smoother than others.

Why don't you try using an EQ? It's mostly free, so no need to buy another headphone. Just play around with it and cut on whatever frequencies are available in your player app's EQ that falls between 5000hz and 10000hz. There are also global (ie works at the OS level) EQ programs, just search for them here or on Google.
