Thanks fo this. I wasn’t aware it decoded MQR. So if tidal says master I should assume it’s decoded ok!

(Sorry new to all this, my first DAP!)

The FiiO logo lights up in different colours depending on the type of file its decoding but I can't remember what is MQA. Green sounds familiar. Check the instruction manual in the support tab on the device. It will explain more in there.

The android app can decode MQA, yes.
But it is decoded just in software and therefore limited.
The Fiio hardware (DAC) is not capable of decoding MQA directly.
To decode MQA in the best possible way, you need a external DAC with MQA hardware decoding.

You have advantages, listening to MQA via just the Tidal app, opposing to "HiFi".
Decoding it with an additional DAC should be better in theory.

Has anyone noticed a huge drop in the music library scan speed after the 1.05 update? It is quite drastic.

    Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback. We will also report to the engineer for checking about that.

    Best regards

Yes. Hiby Music App is one of the best, incredibly quick, stable, makes the most of the sound. I have put it on the M11 and often default to it. But,alas, can’t get it on the M9. Rilliant piece of soft wear.

Please, include Hiby Music app on the white listed apps

    Dear friend,

The Hiby music app could not be installed in the M6/M9. A user tried to manually diy and installed it but failed as well.

    Best regards

Hi, can someone confirm if the stuttering problem still exists if you use LDAC (Quality First) and WiFi at the same time? I am planning to buy this DAP to use with X1000M3 and sometimes stream from Tidal. I was hoping to get the full stream rate of 990kbps.

Is the only workaround to use LDAC (quality first) with Tidal offline mode and WiFi off?

Also, I was planning to use the M9 with my FiiO FA7. Can anyone comment on whether this is a good pairing?

Please disregard my previous post. I read through all 139 pages and got my answer regarding LDAC lol.

If my usage is mainly wired with IEMs and downloaded Tidal content, are there any other players at this price point that would compete?

On occasion, I will be using BT with Sony 1000xm3, and I’d like to use highest quality LDAC, but I don’t see myself streaming tidal at the same time because I’ll be on an airplane lol.

Given my usage scenarios I’m expecting the need for WiFi OR BT, but usually not at the same time. I don’t know if there is another option at this price point?

    Hi!
I do have an issue with the bluetooth . I cannot connect any of my phones to the M9. My M9 works as BT decoding amp mode (so as receiver) but not as BT transmitter. So I cannot use Fiio link to control my M9 with my phone.
I tried all I can do but it simply do not connect. Just for 1 second actually, that's it...
Did you already face this issue ? Thanks
    @FiiO

    Dear friend,

If you are using the Fiio link in Bluetooth mode, you may read this for reference: https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/162385.html
Or you could try the Fiio link function in Wifi mode instead?

    Best regards

@FiiO actually I have an issue to connect my phone with my M9 using BT. I don't even talk about Fiio link yet :)
My M9 simply refuses to connect to any of my phone by BT
